on my way back...

...the cloudy sky was victorious... ...flying carpets were falling from the sky... ...the wild dogs were asleep... ...and everything started making sense again.

Another good night out...

Finally after a long time we all went out together. And it was nice... miss Selvi May in a ridiculous owl hat at Bilsar Mark Aerial Waller and Mihda Koray posing some night rays.. and Kim Kio's petit stereo Nakit man strikes back

"...and the ban goes on..."

Life without you tube... At the same time Turkish i-phoners can browse youtube.com.. And at the same time I find out that youtube has an agreement with Digiturk (obviously the digital Turkish channel) to remove soccer momenta and goal phases if there is an upload. Isn't that a bit weird...?

Free Tibet

This striking image just brought in my mind various historical works: paintings of fighting bodies, renaissance compositions and visual tricks, 19th century revolution mechanisms, far east ultra-violent films. The most breathtaking though is what's happening in Tibet these days.

Carnival days in arab countries

Palestine/ Jaffa 1924 Iraq 1930 - 1939 Syria/ Damascus 1954 Lebanon/ Beirut 1948 Lebanon/ Beirut 1940 : One of the things I miss in Istanbul is the carnival. Turkey is not masquerading. My first thought was that it's related to Islam and its unrepresentational aspect. But after doing a small research at the Arab Image Foundation, I found these photos from different dates and places from Muslim countries... Why is that the case then?
