SUNDAY

Opening hours: 12 - 7 PM Linienstrasse 40, D-10119 Berlin SUNDAY is a one day contemporary art event which will gather some of the most noticeable young galleries from Berlin and other parts of Europe under one roof. The idea is to create an easygoing and accessible temporary platform where galleries can set up their exhibitions in the most unconstrained ways. SUNDAY is a follow up to a similar project '7x2' which also took place during the Berlin gallery weekend last year and attracted an estimated audience of 3000 people. SUNDAY will occupy a brand new building on Rosa Luxemburg Platz designed by BundschuhBaumhauer architects. The participating galleries will share three spacious floors of the building without any partitioning walls or individual booths - ensuring an open atmosphere for the visitors. Participating galleries are: Sandra Bürgel (Berlin), Chert (Berlin), Circus (Berlin), Croy Nielsen (Berlin), Hollybush Gardens (London), Tanya Leighton (Berlin), Limoncello (London), Lüttgenmeijer (Berlin), Norma Mangione (Turin), PSM (Berlin), Supportico Lopez (Berlin), Rob Tufnell (London), Rodeo (Istanbul), Tulips & Roses (Vilnius), Villa Reykjavik (Reykjavik). Media partner: MOUSSE magazine (Milan). SUNDAY is hosted by: Der Verein zur Förderung von Kunst und Kultur am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz eV For more information please contact: Croy Nielsen (Henrikke Nielsen) henrikke@croynielsen.de +49 179 7935836 Tulips & Roses (Jonas Žakaitis) info@tulipsandroses.lt +370 6 9800017

Something seems to be going wrong here

traditional tunes from Ikaria executed somehow differently...

Two days in Zurix for Chrristodoulos Panayiotou's exhibition at the Kunsthalle

The view from my window at monsieur JCFG's lovely apartment... ...remind me of a Magritte painting I saw at the Kunsthaus a little later... ...where an Ernst work in the room of Giacomettis stole my heart and took my mind back to where I come from... ...the sea. Here Christodoulos' work on Sarah Bernhard's carved throne at Belle-île-en-Mer, where every morning she would sit and speak to the waters.. beautifully installed in the far end corner. My gift from london... Elad Lassry double exposed A guest and a host... ? two ghosts! ... I fell in love with Comix's new boots, following them under tables The day after the party... ... I was a bit confused; where am I? Ugo Rondinone showed me the way... ...and entered the most bizarre museum, Landes; there was a beautiful wooden, lionheaded sleigh, the most amazing cupboard from 1939, half was wood carved and half was a mirror, extremely beautiful tapestries, while the modern was in a very peculiar dialogue with the romantic days and their products. A Swiss photo journalist prize reminded me again, who I was there for... And who I am... ... found senior JG in a corridor and left the city dreaming of more lakes and castles and swans; waking up the morning after in Istanbul I somehow felt I'd been dreaming.

in the meantime...

.... I went to Beirut for a week, came back and opened Anna Boghiguian's and Cevdet Erek's show that was beautiful, went home for the holiday and even if Athens didn't feel like home somehow it was warm and as always nights were particularly long. Then came back to Istanbul and in a week's time I was back in Athens for Eftihis Patsourakis' solo show at Eleni Koroneou's gallery then went to London and then Cambridge for Mark Aerial Waller's show at Wysing, were I found myself drinking wines at The Red House with Mark and Lotte and the lovely owners. The country opened my eyes and heart again. Meeting Mr.S on my last evening opened my heart even more and reminded me what real friends are here for: uplifting, laughing and putting things back in their path. Back to Istanbul, I waited for Mr. Tufnell to open his show on hallucinations and flying carpets, that is currently running at Rodeo. So many things to say and describe and narrate; so many wrong and right feelings, words spoken and many left back there.. That's the living. Anna Boghiguian, I sowed gardens in my soul, I drew gardens on my body, I had my nightmares engraved on my face, I cried and I laughed, I became part of humanity, watercolor on paper, 2009.
